Ericeira is known as the Portuguese Mecca of Surf. With a swell consistency from 56% to 96%, it is one of the most consistent surf spots on the South Atlantic coast. Our waters are among the most biodiverse globally and offer 22 types of waves suiting any skill level under the most varied conditions. Our beaches have the Blue Flag distinction – the international gold standard for water quality, safety and coastal environment.

Ericeira offers excellent surf conditions 365 days a year. Beginners and intermediate surfers will have fun waves during Spring and Summer, while the colder seasons (October to March) are heaven to pro surfers seeking perfect barrels.

BEACHES & SURF SPOTS

Our coast has the most beautiful beaches and surf spots with different sceneries, backgrounds and characteristics. All picture-perfect, from wild rocky settings to lively fisherman beaches. But as beautiful as they are, keep in mind that the Atlantic is a force of nature. Don't go into the water without checking the sea conditions or asking for advice. If you rent gear, please consider your instructors' guidance. Never surf on a beach that is out of your skill range.
