TERMS & CONDITIONS

We want your time with Magikvanilla to be nothing but good waves and good memories. These terms cover the practical stuff — bookings, payments, cancellations, and safety — written as plainly as we can manage. Questions? Just ask: welcome@magikvanilla.com.

BOOKING & PAYMENT

  • A booking is confirmed once we've confirmed it in writing. For a last-minute phone booking where written confirmation isn't possible yet, a verbal agreement stands in the meantime.
  • You'll pay either the full amount or a 50% deposit at the time of booking.
  • Everyone joining a lesson, multi-lesson package, or surf week acknowledges having read and accepted the terms and conditions as well as the code of conduct.
  • If you're under 18, a parent or guardian will be responsible, and by enrolling the minor in the activities, he acknowledges having read and accepted the terms and conditions as well as the code of conduct.
  • Booking for a group? Whoever submits the booking enquiry is responsible for payment for everyone on it, and for making sure the whole group knows these terms.
  • We only collect the information we need to manage your booking (name, date of birth, contact details), and we never see or store your payment details — they're encrypted.

CHANGING YOUR BOOKING

Plans change, and we'll do what we can to accommodate that, subject to course dates and instructor availability.

  • Need to swap who's coming? Tell us the new person's info, and we take care of the rest.
  • Smaller group than planned? Email us at least 3 weeks (21 days) before your start date. After that, you're responsible for the original booking value.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Email welcome@magikvanilla.com as soon as you know — your cancellation takes effect the day we receive it. Here's how refunds work:

Paid in full, booked 30+ days ahead:

  • More than 21 days before your start date: 50% refund
  • Less than 21 days before your start date: no refund

Booked 30+ days ahead with a 50% deposit:

  • No refund

Booked less than 21 days before your start date (full payment required):

  • No refund

HEALTH, SAFETY & TAKING PART

Surfing is an adventure sport, and like any adventure sport, it carries some risk — even with proper supervision. You'll need a reasonable level of fitness and be water confident.

Please, tell us about any medical conditions, illnesses, disabilities, allergies, or medication that could affect your session. If you're booking for someone under 18, that's on the parent or guardian to flag.

We provide and maintain all the gear you need. If anything gets damaged while it's in your care, please let us know straightaway.

A few things we need to ask: please don't take part if you're pregnant, or if you have a heart condition, injury, or illness that could affect your safety — and please don't surf under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any medication that affects your coordination or judgement.

We won't be held responsible for anything outside our reasonable control — think third-party actions, acts of God, or genuinely unforeseeable circumstances.

For how we expect everyone to behave in and around the water, check our Code of Conduct.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

    • The minimum age for our group lessons is 7.
  • Younger surfers (up to 16) can join a private lesson, as long as a parent or guardian stays with them for the whole session.
  • Parents/guardians are welcome to join in or wait on the beach — whichever you prefer.
  • We may decline to teach if no clear supervision arrangement has been made.

WHEN THE OCEAN SAYS NO

If we judge the sea or weather unsafe for a lesson, we'll cancel it and do everything we can to reschedule you. If that's not possible, we'll issue a credit voucher valid until the end of the following season or a refund as a last resort. Lessons run Sunday to Friday; if you need to cancel a session, we might not be able to offer a replacement, but we will do everything in our power to help.

KEEPING THINGS ACCURATE

We do our best to keep our website, social media, marketing materials, and partner listings accurate, but we can't take responsibility for errors or mismatches in third-party content about us.

We may use photos or footage from your course for promotional purposes (website, social media, brochures, and similar) at no charge — just let us know beforehand if you'd rather we didn't use your image.

Prices are correct at the time of publishing, but we reserve the right to adjust them.

CONDUCT

You're responsible for your own behaviour during your time with us. Damage to our property or disregard for our conduct guidelines may mean being asked to leave a lesson or course without a refund, and you may be charged for any loss or damage caused.

For the full picture of how we expect everyone to treat each other, our instructors, and the ocean, check our Code of Conduct.
