Overview
Five surf sessions a week for kids and teens aged 7–16, on the golden sand of Praia de São Julião — one of the most beautiful stretches of Portugal's west coast. Over the course of one week, your child swaps the screen for the sea. With gentle, rolling beach-break waves and dedicated, qualified instructors who teach, support and cheer them on wave after wave, they'll go from first pop-ups on the sand to standing tall on a wave — building confidence, balance, water-sense and a real love of the ocean along the way. The group is capped at 10 and split between two or more instructors, so every child gets close attention and is grouped by level — first-timers and improvers each progress at their own pace. Everything's included: board and wetsuit, personal accident and public liability insurance, and a photo session so that first wave is one you keep. How it works: parents (or guardians) handle drop-off and pick-up. From there, it's your call — stay and watch, relax at the beach café, or sign a waiver to leave your child in a monitor's care for the session. Surf runs with the ocean, so session times follow the tides and shift from day to day (some afternoon starts, around 13:00); we confirm each day's time before the week begins. FAQs
What ages is it for?
Our surf weeks are for kids and teens aged 7–16. Everyone is grouped by level, so first-timers and more experienced surfers each progress at their own pace.
Does my child need to know how to swim?
Not necessarily — but they should be water-confident. Our lessons start in shallow water close to shore, and we never take a child somewhere they don't feel comfortable. Safety and confidence come first.
How big are the groups?
Each group is capped at 10 and shared between two or more instructors, so every child gets close attention and plenty of time in the water.
What's included?
Everything they need: board and wetsuit, personal accident and public liability insurance, and a photo session to capture that first wave. Just turn up.
What should my child bring?
No kit lists — just the usual beach basics: swimwear, a towel, high-factor sun cream, a bottle of water and a snack. A change of warm clothes for afterwards is a good idea too.

What time are the sessions?
Sessions run Monday to Friday, but times follow the tides and vary from day to day (some afternoon sessions start around 13:00). We confirm the schedule for each day before the week begins.
How does payment work?

What happens if the weather or sea is unsafe?
Your child's safety comes first. If conditions are unsafe for surfing, we'll cancel the session and do our best to reschedule. If that's not possible, you'll receive a credit voucher valid until the end of the following season, or a full refund.
Where is it, and which weeks are available?
At Praia de São Julião, on Portugal's beautiful west coast. Current weeks: 6–10 July, 13–17 July, 3–7 August and 17–21 August — we may open more once these fill. Spots are limited, so book early.
